In this blog, I will be introducing this robot. This is our third generation robot in the season. We used this robot to attend our first competition in Taiwan, which qualifies for the national competition. We got the highest score of the day with 249 pts in teamwork. This robot can do all the missions on the field. We used all 6 motors.
The shooter works like the picture shown above. There will be a spinning part connected to the motor. I am using a 48-tooth gear with standoffs, but you can replace it with others like 1*4 beams. Then there is the main shooter that is pulled by the rubber bands. You will also need a blocker to prevent the shooter from going over your disc holder, I used a standoff in this case.
For the purple roller, I recommend using an Omni wheel. Our gear ratio is 15:1 speed which I think is fast enough. I added a slide for the discs to slide down into the dumper.
For the new version of the extension arm. There is this trigger that can be pushed by the arm going down. The trigger connects to the T-shaped piece at the end, when the trigger is pushed, the T piece goes down and releases the extension arm.
For the old version of the extension arm, there is a beam holding down the extension arm. When the arm raises and pushes one side of the beam down, the other side rises and releases the extension arm.
This is all for the robot explanation. I hope this helped you and your team!
